Suspension of the email job alerts service

Candidate's Guide to www.ukgraduatecareers.net

(An evolving list of supporting information)

Hints & Tips, and Recent Changes

Registered candidates who have been with us for some time, will already be aware that we upgraded our web-site layout, and introduced many improvements, in March 2008. Even so, we are already developing a list of desired improvements to be incorporated into the next upgrade.

In the meantime, therefore, we will be occasionally adding items to this Hints & Tips, section with a view to maximising the user-friendliness of the site.

Suspension of the Email Job Alerts service

  • Question. If I register as a candidate with ukgraduatecareers.net, and then find a new job, how do I suspend the job alerts service?

                                                 ----------------------------------------

  • Answer-1  New, as of October 2008, there is a one click "suspend" feature at the top of each job-alerts email.

                                                 ----------------------------------------

  • Answer-2  To suspend the alerts immediately (without waiting for the next email alert) ... Click-by-click guide
  • Log in ... this takes you into Candidate Portfolio
  • Click on Change Details ... this takes you into the Personal Settings page
  • Click on Deactivation
  • Use the drop-down list to choose Permanently
  • Click on Save

Note. Reactivation at a later date is quite straightforward. "Deactivated" candidates logging on to the site are immediately offered a one-click opportunity to re-activate.
