Human Resources involves the business of people management within a company.

Human Resources covers a broad range of people management skills within an organisation.  It can range from determining training needs within a company and subsequently contracting in suppliers to meet these needs to, to constructing and delivering appraisal systems and the management of grievance and disciplinary procedures.

To be considered for graduate HR jobs you will have a degree, often a business related degree.  In addition you will need to be persuasive and a natural negotiator able to deal with people from the widest range of backgrounds.  You will also need to be well organised often needing to track and implement changes across several departments in parallel.

Laws and legislations surrounding people management are becoming ever more complicated and hence human resources is constantly acquiring a more and more complex role.

Graduate HR jobs attract good salaries, Starting between £17-£22K and risen on an open ended basis through career progression.  Hr directors on blue chip companies are likely to enjoy 6 figure salaries along with attractive benefits packages, so career potential in HR is excellent.
