Graduate Employers Worry About Being Sued
Those of you looking for Graduate Jobs could be interested to know that many Graduate Employers are worried to discipline staff!
For those of you who will be completing your University courses shortly and are soon to be looking for Graduate Jobs, you could be in for a nice surprise.
It has been revealed that almost half of the small firms in the UK are scared to discipline their staff to avoid a situation where they could be sued!
You won’t be in for an easy ride though if you do gain Graduate Employment, with around eight nine percent of employers being said to be more than happy (excuse the phrasing!) to discipline their staff if they were confident of the issue legally,
This research came from the well respected employment law firm Peninsula, with the head of employee relations David Price commenting that some businesses are wary of being taken to tribunals and therefore choose against disciplining staff.
He added that the general feeling at the moment is that employment law is weighted much more favourably on the employee.
This theory is backed up by around seventy nine percent of the employers surveyed suggested that due to the ever increasing workers rights, they believe it’s only a matter of time before somebody takes them to a tribunal.
Mr Price believes that UK based employers should not be afraid to go down the disciplinary route as they can provide a “clear and transparent framework to deal with difficulties”.
For those who are not familiar with Peninsula, they are a Manchester based company established in 1983, offering 24 hour services offering employment law expertise.
