Economic slowdon will effect graduate recruitment schemes say experts
Despite recent statistics showing that the number of graduate jobs has risen, experts are not optimistic regarding the longer term prospects fro graduate recruitment schemes.
Running graduate recruitment schemes are a significant investment for large firms in finding and developing new talent. In the economic climate as it is, many large firms have already canceled graduate recruitment schemes for 2009. The cancellation of schemes them self represent a much needed saving and in addition firms may short cut the investment through seeking staff who already have the skills they need and a track record of experience.
This news is the converse to comments seen previously predicting graduate recruitment would rise with many institutions seeing graduates as a cheaper labour source in the struggling market.
